    snowman: . . . . Thu, Jul 23, 7:28PM EST (-0400 GMT)

Yes it is. Is the old site going to be active much longer?

    Chris: . . . . Thu, Jul 23, 7:39PM EST (-0400 GMT)
Probably a little over a month, to give everyone a chance to switch over.

    snowman: . . . . Thu, Jul 23, 7:40PM EST (-0400 GMT)
Is the timer on the post correct?

    Chris: . . . . Thu, Jul 23, 7:43PM EST (-0400 GMT)

This new site is awesome. I like that picture on the banner on the home page. Good job Chris keep up the good work. I could probably donate something if you e-mail me at justin_16830@yahoo.com. This goes for any other chatters if they want to e-mail me too.

    J37: . . . . Fri, Jul 24, 1:41PM EST (-0400 GMT)
Chris: Do you think it would be possible to have pictures of some equipment on the site. I would like to be informed of new equipment.

    Carpe de Puck: . . . . Fri, Jul 24, 3:03PM EST (-0400 GMT)
The site looks different if I view it with explorer than with netscape. So far I prefer Netscape

    RocketGoalie: . . . . Fri, Jul 24, 5:19PM EST (-0400 GMT)
Yup, Chris...this looks great and I like the archive part too. So, Toast, hear any rumours about Potvin? I heard the Leafs still want Recchi and the Habs want to give up Thibault and two scrubs...I guess that would make it three scrubs...heheh

I am convinced that Brian's makes the best goal pants on the market. My ridges are more than I ever expected. While they are wide, the fit is superb. It's like the plates float away from your body and the inner pads contour to you. The level of protection is unrivialed

    Chris: . . . . Fri, Jul 24, 7:04PM EST (-0400 GMT)
    Hi Carpe de Puck

Still no familiar faces, what gives? Had an awesome game of pickup today. A lot of really good players showed up and myself and 1 other goalie. Teams were fairly evenly balanced and the shots and plays were excellent. Made several cool glove saves on slapers from the blue line as well as saves on guys cutting across the front of the crease from the wing. Totally stopped a guy twice in a row on his signature move, I know he was baffled. I'm really glad I sharpened my skates before I left the house, I needed the edge today....literally :-)

    ScottBattram: . . . . Sat, Jul 25, 1:42PM EST (-0400 GMT)
I made it here... Looks nice!! Will have to check it with Netscape as well so I can see the difference!

Very nice work, Chris. I will be sending a contribution towards upkeep once I get down to the States and start earning those good U.S. dollars - expect to hear from me in September. Again, excellent job.

Does anybody know where you can purchase Armadilla mask besides SFSL? I keep hearing how great these mask are and want to see one for myself. Better yet, does anyone wear one or seen one in person?

    Carpe de Puck: . . . . Sat, Jul 25, 7:48PM EST (-0400 GMT)
I have to admit that for once I am actually glad we have figure skaters around here where I live. Seems the head ladt came into some money and has built another rink and is open it up my wifes team as well as stick time. There is even rumor of the possiblity of another league starting up. This lady is thinking too, she is building a site that actually houses 2 sheets of ice in 1 building. Think of the hockey you could play in there. I think I'd die of dehydration before I could get enough hockey in LOL

    Carpe de Puck: . . . . Sat, Jul 25, 7:57PM EST (-0400 GMT)
The possibility of year round hockey here is becoming very real. Who would believe it possible in the South?

    C5: . . . . Sat, Jul 25, 9:34PM EST (-0400 GMT)
Injury report! I was cut by a skate tonight in the third period of the last game of the season. The cut was 3" long, 3/4" deep, required 21 stitches to close, and is just inside my knee, about 2" above the bend in my leg. I bled quite nicely for the first two minutes, until a nurse who happened to be there with a member of the other team came down to the ice and put pressure on it, made me lie down, the whole nurse thing. Someone called 911, the firemen came, then the paramedics, and I'm ambulanced to the hospital, still in my sweats, breezers and shirt. I'm pretty lucky, though, because the guy from the other team really got me good. Anyone here remember the discussion about hockey socks? Well, I'm wearing them from now on... The skate cut through the edge of my kneepad and down through my sweatpants. It looked like something from Vietnam, completely soaked in blood. Those were cut off and left in the ER room where I was treated. Everything's been a blur, so I don't remember much of what or exactly how any of this happened. The injury was just a freak accident, really. I don't think anyone was negligent, really, and the other guy on the other team wasn't careless and didn't run me or anything. Just one of those things. I recall being down in the 'fly, making a save on a play of some kind... all I remember is that I'm at the top of my crease stopping a low shot, a bunch of guys are barrelling in, stopping, turning, tangling, and I just get hit by a skate making a turning, slashing motion. I remember noticing it, feeling it hit me, and I knew right away the contact felt different because the skate never seemed to stop coming in. It just kept going that extra inch where you know something's wrong. I looked down at the crease and blood was already on the ice and staining the snow. I looked in my pad and I could see a gaping cut and the muscle underneath. I immediately entered another zone, mentally. Freaky, because it didn't hurt at all. I didn't feel an ounce of pain until I got to the ER, where they had to inject me with some stuff to numb my knee. I just got back from the ER a few hours ago and I'm not too excited about the whole thing... I'm going to miss my tournament in Nashville next week (which I already paid for), two AA hockey games tomorrow, and the CNN/SI playoffs starting Monday. @#$@#!! Anyway, I'm okay now, and I'm going to just rest, keep my knee straight, and enjoy the new chat...

    Carpe de Puck: . . . . Sun, Jul 26, 6:01AM EST (-0400 GMT)
C5, that really sucks. Sounds like some bad karma to me. At least your alright, sorry to hear it happened, really freaky accident. Although I don't know if wearing hockey socks would of helped if the cut was that deep, knitted material cuts very easy to start with. Tell me they didn't cut up your equipment to treat you? They love to cut EVERYTHING off in the ER. I've actually gotten into arguements with the medics and nurses trying to cut off my uniform. The boots, they cut the laces and I figured no big deal, then they cut the boots off, no trying to remove them, thats when I started getting pissed. Hope you recover quickly, if nothing major was damaged you should be up and walking fairly soon. Look at it this way though, it didn't happen in the start or middle of the season and you still can play this coming season.

GREAT GOING CHRIS......though maybe it is my current color settings, the red on the left is a tad dark and with my old-lady eyes I need to squint a bit to see the buttons there.....but THANKS for the new log! Glad we could help....

    smott: . . . . Sun, Jul 26, 7:29AM EST (-0400 GMT)
CATSFIVE hope you're feeling a bit better this AM my friend, though I suspect you are sore as hell, and will be for a couple more days.....a cut that deep might as well be like surgery, you will be wee bit achy believe me! I know it sucks totally to be out of action, we have all been there and we all sympathize....missing those trips/games you were looking forward to is a bummer.....try to hang in there and HEAL FAST!!

    C5: . . . . Sun, Jul 26, 8:34AM EST (-0400 GMT)
Thanks, y'all, I do appreciate the thoughts. My mother asked me whether I fainted when I saw my muscle. I just was mesmerized, like in a movie. Besides, I told her, I was in that "I'm ready to get hit by anything, pucks in the head, sticks on the arms, whatever," but I didn't realize it also included getting sliced open. It was so trippy and dreamy and didn't hurt one bit. It's a bit sore right now as I type this, though, but I'm on painkillers... I AM indeed bummed about missing those games, though, and the playoffs, too ! I'm supposed to be playing a game right now, which is why I had to check the chat... CdP, no, they took my skates off on the ice, and my pants were loose enough to let me crawl out of them. Besides, it was about four female nurses, and I think they were waiting for something good. I did have to take off the undies... :-D

    ScottBattram: . . . . Sun, Jul 26, 10:05AM EST (-0400 GMT)
Armadillo Masks are made in Waterloo Ontario... they are not very popular up in this area.. they are big and bulky looking... kinda looks like a motorcycle helmet... i dont have the card handy, but the owner is Don Strauss, and I am sure if you look up either Don Strauss or Armadillo Masks Inc. on one of those telephone directories for Canada, in Waterloo Ontario, you will be able to contact them.

    Carpe de Puck: . . . . Sun, Jul 26, 7:15PM EST (-0400 GMT)
I suggest those who are looking for some reading material on goal tending check out Amazon .com. They have a wide selection on hand as well as older publications that are worth waiting for ie; Plante on goaltending and Tretiak's book

    RocketGoalie: . . . . Sun, Jul 26, 7:40PM EST (-0400 GMT)
CdP - yeah, I'd expected a few more here too...maybe a bunch log on at work and don't work weekends? We'll see tomorrow, eh?

    : . . . . Sun, Jul 26, 7:46PM EST (-0400 GMT)
I don't know if I saw all the posts at the last site, but has anyone here own/worn/seen one of the carbon fibre & kevlar masks like CpD is talking about? Eddy makes one too but Itech's highest one I've seen is fibreglass & kevlar. I'm wondering if anyone can tell me what, if anything, makes them worth so much $$$? By the way, CdP, if you want to check out the looks of the Armadilla, I think Beezer and Hrudey have worn them the last few years.

In response to the above post by " : " on the Carbon fiber masks. 1 the masks are significantly stronger and the use of carbon fiber and kevlar makes for a very lightweight mask that offers excellent protection. My Pro-Masque is carbon fiber/kevlar mix and it is worth evry penny. However, it was significantly cheaper than what you see these stores selling carbon fiber/kevlar masks for. I highly recommend Pro-Masque. I was asking about Armadilla's because no one else besides SFSL aka MCM kickback(LOL) is the only one who sells them through a catalog(that I've found). I am curious as to their comfort and to know how much SFSL is overcharging for them, which I'm pretty sure they are doing.

Picked up a 6-5 win last night not pretty but at least the result was desireable....also a couple more bruises through these R5 pants. Hmmm....I may be in to Takla-land soon! THough the reports on Brian's Ridge sound tempting....

    Goal35: . . . . Mon, Jul 27, 11:07AM PST (-0700 GMT)
Well, almost halfway thru my week of games, played Fri nite, we won 8-3 then last nite, we beat the 1st place team 4-3, took one in the throat, end of 1st period, hurt like hell, still kinda raspy voiced today, ankle is still sore but am able to skate o.k. - now have games Tue, Wed, Fri...

    Goal35: . . . . Mon, Jul 27, 11:09AM PST (-0700 GMT)
smott- as a former R5 wearer, take a serious look at the Brians.. I love em.

    smott: . . . . Mon, Jul 27, 11:14AM PST (-0700 GMT)
Well for me movement is essential and I must say I can get around easily in the R5s....used to have Brown 950s which were bullet proof but I lumbered around awkwardly....how are those Brian's compared to the thin/light R5s when it comes to scrambling around the crease?

    Goal35: . . . . Mon, Jul 27, 11:57AM PST (-0700 GMT)
smott - well, it's only my opinion, but these are just as easy as to move in than the R5's with tons more protection, and the legs cut a bit shorter to not get in the way of the pads - but ask CdP, and you might get another take on them..

    Carpe de Puck: . . . . Mon, Jul 27, 3:52PM PST (-0700 GMT)
On the Pants issue, I agree with G35. Brian's ridge pants are different in that the thigh plates don't actually ride right up against your thigh, they are sewn into the pant itself/pocket and then there is what I'll call an inside part thingy with padding that rides closer to your body. If it's an help I think they kind of look like rodeo clown pants that look real big but really feel like a normal pair of pants. Movement is no problem. A case in point, SFSL sent me a Large when I asked for a Medium but I am still able to wear them thanks to the suspenders and move around perfectly fine. The plus side of them being a little bigger than I'm used to has increased the ventilation in that region and thus I've been sweating less. Movement I give them 2 thumbs up , puck stopping a 2 thumbs up quality 2 thumbs price 2 thumbs Right now with CDn dollar

I think the major thing which contributes to a masks cost is the time involved to produce the product, and the skill of the person making the mask. You will pay alot of money for Cubberly and Pro-Masque, and Wright(ITECHs TOP END) simply because of the time and care that goes into the manufacture of the mask. Likewise with goal equipment, you are paying for the skill of the people making the product i would suggest that in this business, you are looking at a 33% split, 33% for the material, 33% for the labour and 33% as profit to the company... on a wholesale cost... so really, the stores who end up selling the equipment are the ones making the big money! For example... one companys pad is wholesaled at $1050.00 Canadian, the suggested retail cost is $1699.00 as you can see, they are making some good money, especially if its a place that doesnt stock items, and all they have to do is pick up the phone and place an order! Now on the other hand, if we use the same logic... and a store who i have no use for is selling pads for 799.00 Canadian BRAND NEW, and lets assume they are making 300.00 off of each set... well, it makes one wonder how that company can sell their product for 500.00 Wholesale, when others are around 850 - 1000 plus! Well.. of course you could always cut a few corners and maybe use cheaper inferior materials in the manufacture... Same can be said with the masks as well! I know when I heard what one gallon of ED's clearcoat cost, I nearly had a heart attack! I thought our material costs were high! haha

CdP - that was my question up there...had a couple problems with my "chat" button and posting...when you say excellent protection, do you mean it's less likely to crack or that you feel less impact when you get pinged? If you find out anything about the Armadilla, make sure you post something...I'm curious too.

    Carpe de Puck: . . . . Mon, Jul 27, 5:37PM PST (-0700 GMT)
I've always wondered and had my thoughts on that and it can be seen in the catalogs with the price differences being fairly substantial for the same item. I think SFSL puts out a good goalie catalog with a somewhat biased opinion on products(read MCM) but i find that for all the bark the dog makes the bite doesn't match. They seem to always be on the higher end of the price scale and I can see how they could probably still make money by matching prices which brings them down into the 33% realm. But for those people who maybe didn't look around much or in the right catalog, they end up paying what SFSL advertises hence they make beau coup money

    Carpe de Puck: . . . . Mon, Jul 27, 5:58PM PST (-0700 GMT)
RG, both. Less chance for breakage/cracking dur to material strength and less impact felt. I know the screamers I've taken have actually scared the people watching more than me. You know you've been hit and the mask may shift on your head a little but it doesn't hurt, that includes side shots over the ear(ear rings though) Another important part that I think people over look is the cage itself. The materials used need to strong to withstand the impacts involved. Saw a fellow net minder catch one right in the vertical double bars and have it bend in on him. Now the mask served it's purpose, it saved his life but now he has a tweaked cage to replace. I've taken a similar shot, by the same shooter, to my mask caught behind a screen and it bounced off into the corner. No damage to the cage or more importantly, my face.

    ScottBattram: . . . . Mon, Jul 27, 6:31PM PST (-0700 GMT)
SFSL has always held MCM in high praise... i dont know why, other than the fact Dyson and Scott Martin are good buddies... now that Scott is no longer with MCM which is now owned by Rawlings, I think you may no longer see the 5 star ratings! The stuff is OK, but its not worthy of always being rated over the Vaughn stuff... and other brands! In fact, their top end offering isnt comperable to other companies top end pad in terms of features... at least thats how I see it!

    Hi Scott

    Chris: . . . . Mon, Jul 27, 6:44PM PST (-0700 GMT)
Does anybody have any suggestions for warming up. I don't think I have the best system. Usually, the opposition will score a goal within the first half of the first period on a rebound, but then I play great for the rest of the game. It seems that I am not warmed up enough until they already scored a goal or two. I have a good five minutes of just shots before the game and another 5 of stretching in the locker room before that. What should I change?

    ScottBattram: . . . . Mon, Jul 27, 6:46PM PST (-0700 GMT)
Hi there Chris... i plan on sending you a good donation....

    Carpe de Puck: . . . . Mon, Jul 27, 7:22PM PST (-0700 GMT)
Chris, I found the same thing happening to me. Good pregame stretch and decent warm up but not quite on until the games been going fro a few. I started having the guys warm me up with all leg shots with the shots moving to the outside corners as I go. After I get a few skate saves per side, kicks to the corners.1/2 pad and full fly I'll have them come in on me at 3/4 speed doing nothing but dekes to get me moving laterally and used to going down. I know most of you are probably thinking thats too much and you don't want to spend your nickel before the game starts but I've found that it works for me and helps me get into my rhythm and starts the concentration or focus and I usually end up in the "zone" and hear OB one Kenobi passing along words of wisdom LOL :-)

On the price difference topic. Has anyone else noticed that brian's Alite pads go from $889 to$ 1050,dependant on the vendor, for the same pad! That one really blows my mind, talk about a mark up, more like a hold up LOL

    smott: . . . . Tue, Jul 28, 6:58AM PST (-0700 GMT)
As for warming up that is tough...I usually try to get in about 10 mins of stretching sometimes before I even leave for the rink.....I never get enough warmup time on the ice, Zamboni gets done, we have maybe 3 minutes before they drop the puck....add to that the game is starting at maybe 11 PM when your body's kind of cold and not too flexible and there's no way I start oyut real sharp very often. But stretching helps a lot.

    smott: . . . . Tue, Jul 28, 6:59AM PST (-0700 GMT)
Also any warmup I survive un-injured I consider a good warmup heh heh....

smott - yup, remember the thigh bruises well with the R5's, specially after the one thigh shield cracked in 1/2, was real special when you'd get one in the middle and have it pinch in with both halves.....

Hi Carp, smott, G35... Anyone one have any good anti-slump voodoo chants? Started out 11-0-0, last 5 went 0-4-1. Help, thinking about sacrificing a chicken or something...

    smott: . . . . Tue, Jul 28, 7:53AM PST (-0700 GMT)
Hmmm actually I was going to ask about that too....slumping severely lately, coming up real small when it counts....seemed to start with a heartbreaking 3-2 loss in teh final secs a couple weeks ago, since then I'm about 1-4 and struggling big time. Lost 8-6 last night in a sub game, 2 empty netters early when I mis-read pucks off the boards or in front and wound up out of position, and 4 more that hit me and rolled across the line. But hey another thigh bruise!

    smott: . . . . Tue, Jul 28, 7:54AM PST (-0700 GMT)
On the other hand I should be looking on the bright side, at least I am still out there playing unlike our pal C5 stuck home with an injury. So I will try to remain positive....

    smott: . . . . Tue, Jul 28, 7:55AM PST (-0700 GMT)

Hiya CdP! Just lurking while doing work to pay the hockey bills...

    smott: . . . . Tue, Jul 28, 8:54AM PST (-0700 GMT)
Hmm well as for my awful balance it has to do with a high center of gravity...I am a tad over 5'8" but my legs ar ereal long, to give you an idea, I can wear 34" pads in more than one brand. Basically my hips go right up to my shoulder blades, so my center of gravity is oh say about a foot over my head! I tip over easily.

    smott: . . . . Tue, Jul 28, 8:55AM PST (-0700 GMT)
This works well for maybe high-jumping or basketball, not for goalies who need strong fast lateral movement with a minimum of tipping.....

    smott: . . . . Tue, Jul 28, 8:56AM PST (-0700 GMT)
As for stance well I geuss it's OK a sort of fly...but I am not strong enough to stay down low real well, or hold position against crease-crashers....

    Carpe de Puck: . . . . Tue, Jul 28, 9:34AM PST (-0700 GMT)
Smott, I know what your talking about. The woman I coach on my wife's hockey team is in the same boat. From the sounds of it, your not getting your butt down low enough. I'm always telling her to bend in the knees a little bit more and get her butt down. Kinda like when your just about to sit down on the toliet. It will feel awkward at first and you won't have the leg strength to hold it for long periods of time at first. However, you can get into this positon as the puck enters your zone and as you face the shot. For starters, don't come out of the crease as far as you normally do. Stay right on the top of it no matter where your at. This will help you in regards to movement since the new stance may slow you some what. Try exagerating the stance at first. Push your knees together and keep your feet shoulder width apart and get into a deep squat and practice moving around from side to side and forwards and back. You may find this changes your body postion to the point where your stick feels like the paddle is too long. In short it will feel weird. By having the lower center of gravity, which all woman have over men, you will be in a better position to move in any direction from the stance position. I've seen a good picture of Tabby in this position before. It's not as drastic as belfours but it gets you in a balanced center of mass ove r the balls of your feet profile. remember to keep the back straight and the chest up, don't hunch over. And of course make sure your hands are in proper position with catcher open and facing the play at knee level, next to or slightly in front of the leg. Blocker situated to the right of your knee, no overlap with the pad, with the stick a comfortable distance in front of your skates so long as the blade sits flush on the ice. Just keep saying to yourself butt down square to the puck and then let it flow from there. If you think about it too much instead of reacting you'll second guess yourself to death. Hope my 2 cents helps you out :-)

    smott: . . . . Tue, Jul 28, 9:42AM PST (-0700 GMT)
Thanks for the tips and yes I know exactly what you are talkign about. Problem is strength to hold that position for long stretches of time, which I simply do not have. For a guy with a normal C of gravity this would be like duck-walking for an hour. I am working at it and I lift wieghts to get as strong as I can, but you should see my legs (or maybe not)! Chickens have bigger legs than me. One more thing we females are missing - muscle mass!

Hey Carpe de Puck, we will begin on your gloves possibly on Friday, if not Monday.. so they will be shipped Tuesday or Wednesday... we need to get 5 upper body pads out this week... 2 of those to compliment pads and gloves going to New Zealand and England... these guys have been waiting for about 5 weeks now... and I was waiting on 70 meters of fabric to come in for upper body pads.. it arrived today and we are pumping them out... (Check our website later in the week to see our new UPPER BODY pad, we redesigned the arm padding it is bigger, and now offers 1 3/8" of foam and hd-80 padding on the inside and outside of the elbows, as well the clavical pads have been redone to allow a cut-away for the mask, to aid in head turning... I will have the new images up on the site later this week or over the weekend!

J-37, Like I said, when I told Troy about the 2 week delivery time, he just laughed! And said... we tell them to tell customers 8 - 10 weeks for custom stuff... and then I would assume they would be doing well to have it out within that time frame! Worst thing is, I bet it only takes those guys up there, 45 minutes to make a blocker! Since, it takes us (2 people) hand cutting with scissors and knives... 1.5 - 2 hours... Just shows how busy the big name players are!! Brians has around 40 people in the manufacturing end of things!

Yup.... double post. Chris, the page briefly pops up after you press the CHAT button, and when you press reload and re-send form data (thus explaining the double post) this is what happens.

    smott: . . . . Wed, Jul 29, 7:36AM PST (-0700 GMT)
Yup it sure is bad luck....on the other hand would ya rather be on a losing streak like me???

    Sieve: . . . . Wed, Jul 29, 7:40AM PST (-0700 GMT)
Hi C5, hope your leg hole is healing okay... the repair shop near me charges $45 for "regloving" blocker. They are at: button

CdP, Ace is owned by Joe Esposito. He played briefly(?) for the Hawks as well as occasional target for Wings.

    smott: . . . . Wed, Jul 29, 9:44AM PST (-0700 GMT)
Ouch that still sounds steep for a re-palm....

    Double Post Demon: . . . . Wed, Jul 29, 10:05AM PST (-0700 GMT)
You can defeat me by doing only one thing, never hitting the reload or refresh button.

    Single Post Angle: . . . . Wed, Jul 29, 10:06AM PST (-0700 GMT)
And you can get on my good side by always hitting the pretty chat button.

Only a goalie understands that the words Angle and Angel are interchangeable...

    Sieve: . . . . Wed, Jul 29, 1:48PM PST (-0700 GMT)
I think the angle angels have forsaken me...

Hi CDP, sorry to hear about the brother in law, was planning on the gloves to be done last week, but I forgot that was our one weeks vacation!(then we take 3 days off over christmas) I ended up working a hockey camp for the week. But they are up first on the schedule for next week.. possibly even on Friday of this week...should be able to get them both done... (but look at it this way, you get the new improved CUFF on the catcher now, that you wouldnt have got 2 weeks ago, as it was just designed!!) As for blocker re-palming, 60.00 US is a rip off, tell them I said so! We charge 35.00 US, the only trouble is, we have to ship it here and back! Unless you want to drive it up to me!

    ScottBattram: . . . . Wed, Jul 29, 4:14PM PST (-0700 GMT)
We charge 45.00 in Canadian, and the palms alone cost us around 17.00 when you figure in the GST TAX, and shipping... and the process takes about 30 minutes, sometimes less, sometimes more depending on the glove, and how easilly we can get it apart... then you may run into having to replace the board inside, or the plastic could be cracked etc... A goalie blocker is much easier to re-palm than a set of forwards gloves though... some of those ones are tricky!

OK Chatsters here's one for ya. Anybody try using magnet-therapy to help with any chronic pain/injury problems? After reading a bunch on it and concluding that nobody knows how the heck (or even if) it works, I finally shelled out a few bucks for a bracelet with 4 magnets on it, since my carpal tunnel was so aggravated....anyway 3 weeks later whattya know, it is about 85% improved, does not bother me typing at all, and only aches a little bit when hitting tennis balls.....

    smott: . . . . Thu, Jul 30, 5:30AM PST (-0700 GMT)
I'm not one of those eye-of-newt wing-of-bat people and I'm certainly not inclined to believe in miracle cures, but it is peculiar don't you think? Sure has given me a lot of relief....they sent me some magnetic insoles for my shoes as a bonus, now I'm looking at them and going "Hmmmmm"....Anybody know what the mechanism is behind these things?....

    Mntender: . . . . Thu, Jul 30, 6:31AM PST (-0700 GMT)
Greetings all, yes the Mntender family is still here and still playing. Although the youngest and I have picked up a new hobby... BMX racing. If you think tending at a 43 is nuts, you should see the looks I get for doing this !! Later all .

OK BMX that tops goaltending for self-destructive tendencies! Any bungee-jumpers out there?

Hmmm... Whatever I send doesn't show up on the chat. I guess I should make this my first problem to solve.

A couple of the owners here are wearing the magnetic bracelets as well... both of them say it helps..

    Sieve: . . . . Thu, Jul 30, 7:45AM PST (-0700 GMT)
sounds good, but where do I put those magnets to soothe an aching 5-hole?

    smott: . . . . Thu, Jul 30, 8:33AM PST (-0700 GMT)
    Heh heh.....

SMOTT: Your blocker is in. White with black letters? LeFerve? Ziggy said it's there. Call him. Just thought I'd let you know...

    smott: . . . . Thu, Jul 30, 11:02AM PST (-0700 GMT)
Yes Ziggy in fact claims to have not one but 3 white Lefevres.....however he did ask for both VISA and phone number so that is a positive indication that there might truly be an actual blocker to ship me.....but I'll believe it when I see it! :-D

    smott: . . . . Thu, Jul 30, 11:03AM PST (-0700 GMT)
...also he says he is glad I called, his laptop crashed and he none of my info anymore to ship it to...almost asked him if the dog ate the laptop but I didn't heh heh.....

    smott: . . . . Thu, Jul 30, 11:15AM PST (-0700 GMT)
But THANKS J37...if you hadn't have tipped me off, Ziggy would have sold that blocker to someone else I bet, because he (so he says) couldn't get ahold of me...so good thing I knew to call him today...THANKS AGAIN!! :-D

Smott, the leg is just hanging there.. .it looks like i've got a catarpillar on my knee, what with the stitches and all. I wish I could just brush it off, but I can't! It's been sore the last two days. I think it's because it's the middle of the week and I've been at work, and having to drive, and having to move around, plus, the chairs at work aren't exactly the most comfortable when you have to keep your leg straight... I stopped wearing the brace.

    C5: . . . . Thu, Jul 30, 2:58PM PST (-0700 GMT)
Scott, looks like i'm going to get ripped off, then, at Greatsaves... $60? I thought that was a little steep. I would have asked you if you could re-palm, but I figured that you only manufacture new equipment. By the way, I think your latest SNR pad looks awesome. i'm needing a new pair of pads, soon. My old ones, well, the right one, anyway, it's covered with blood! I'm really looking for a pad that's not bulky. The Cooper Reactor 5's looks awesome for this purplose. I don't care to have a lot of bulk. The puck makes contact with three inches on my pads, and usually it's because I purposely moved something into its way. I don't believe in taking up a lot of the net and playing percentages. I believe in smarts, seeing the shot, and anticipation. And barring that, luck, especially on deflections and screens. On those I play the percentages. Most pads look bulky to me. Do you know what I'm talking about?
